PRICE ON REQUEST

The Milesight EM41x-RDL is a non-contact radar distance and level sensor designed for remote monitoring of liquids and smooth solid surfaces in demanding environmental and industrial applications. Using 60 GHz millimeter-wave radar technology, it measures distances from 0.3 to 12 metres with a resolution of 1 mm and measurement accuracy of up to ±2 mm under specified conditions.

The sensor provides reliable distance and level measurements in environments exposed to dust, condensation, temperature variations and acoustic noise. Its IP68-rated PVDF enclosure offers resistance to corrosion and wear, making it suitable for applications including wastewater infrastructure, rivers, reservoirs, storage tanks and high-salinity environments.

The EM41x-RDL series includes LoRaWAN and cellular communication versions to accommodate different remote monitoring requirements. The EM411-RDL also offers ATEX Zone 0 certification for applications requiring equipment approved for potentially explosive atmospheres.

What is the EM41x-RDL used for?

The EM41x-RDL Radar Distance and Level Sensor measures the distance between the sensor and the surface of a liquid or smooth solid material without physical contact.

In liquid level monitoring applications, the measured distance can be used to determine the liquid level relative to the installation reference. This measurement method avoids direct contact between the sensing equipment and the monitored liquid.

The sensor is designed for applications where environmental conditions can affect conventional measurement methods, including installations exposed to condensation, dust, temperature changes and corrosive conditions.

What should you check before choosing the EM41x-RDL?

Before selecting an EM41x-RDL sensor, verify the required measurement distance, installation geometry, target surface conditions and environmental temperature range. The measurement range extends from 0.3 to 12 m, and the sensor uses an 8° radar beam.

The selection of the communication version is also important. The EM411-RDL and EM410-RDL use LoRaWAN communication, while the EM410-RDL-L0CEU uses cellular LTE Cat 1 connectivity.

For potentially explosive atmospheres, the EM411-RDL is the model identified with ATEX Zone 0 certification. The suitability of the equipment and its certification for a particular Canadian hazardous-location installation must be verified separately.

For Canadian deployments, confirm the required wireless frequency configuration, regulatory approvals and communication network compatibility before ordering.
