Why using the UVC technology?
UV radiation is a proven technology that can reduce bacteria, viruses, and other harmful microorganisms that pose a risk to human health. UV-C (a more specific kind of UV light) radiation kills or inactivates microorganisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA, rendering them unable to perform vital cellular functions.
UV-C germicidal lamps have been used for years when it comes to the disinfection of air and surfaces in hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, and many other organizations where hygiene and cleanliness are of the utmost importance. In light of the current coronavirus outbreak, UV-C technologies are just one of the many technologies being used and offered during the fight against the spread of the virus.
Since the COVID-19 health crisis, many tests and studies have been carried out with UV-C. Although there is a wide range of variation in D90 values(the amount of UV dosage to kill a certain virus), it can be expected from laboratory studies due to the UV sensitivity. The D90 value range for coronaviruses is 7 to 2410 J / m2, averaging 308 J / m2, which should adequately represent the UV sensitivity of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus.
Using this exposure data and comparing the irradiance measurements of UV radiation from our UV lamps and disinfection systems, one can easily calculate the exposure times required to achieve a particular log reduction-based at specified distances of the source. All items are mains powered and have a short 3 to 5 minute warm-up time to reach full power.
