Fixed Non-Intrusive Flow Meter ATEX IECEx: UX5000 | MICRONICS
The UX5000 flow meter is a non-intrusive flow meter approved by ATEX/IECEx, making it certified for use in hazardous zones 1 and 2.
The UX5000 flow meter is a non-intrusive flow meter approved by ATEX/IECEx, making it certified for use in hazardous zones 1 and 2.
It is designed for measuring liquid flow rates inside closed pipes and conduits.
Delivered fully equipped and ready to use (Ref UX5000) with: DCSIU display unit, RMU remote measurement unit, sensor B for pipe and conduit diameters: 50-300 mm, mounting brackets, cables, and coupling tube.
It is based on transit time technology and is suitable for clean liquids without particles.
Its installation is simple and quick, requiring no production slowdowns/stops or modifications/cuts to pipes or conduits.
Measurement Principle:
The UX5000 uses a cross-correlation transit time algorithm to provide accurate flow measurements. An ultrasonic beam of a given frequency is generated and applied to the sensor crystals. This transmission first goes from the downstream sensor to the upstream sensor. The transmission then occurs in the reverse direction, from the upstream sensor to the downstream sensor. The speed of ultrasonic transmission in the liquid is slightly increased by the liquid's flow velocity in the pipe. The resulting time difference, T1-T2, is directly proportional to the liquid's flow velocity.
Advantages:
- Non-invasive, efficient, and easy installation, no process downtime
- Certified for use in ATEX zones (Zone 1 & Zone 2)
- Intrinsically safe measurement system
- Good measurement accuracy
- Separate display unit (DCSIU) and remote measurement unit (RMU) allow flexibility in installation
- Cost-effective measurement for tough and heavy applications
- Available in 2 versions: single-channel and dual-channel
- Remote system configuration and monitoring
