ATEX Zone 1 LoRaWAN® pulse and analogue input sensor : TORAN’O | WATTECO

WATTECO TORAN’O ATEX Zone 1 connects pulse meters, pressure switches and analogue sensors to LoRaWAN®. It provides three pulse/status inputs, three analogue inputs, IP55 or IP68 protection and up to 10 years of autonomy.

PRICE ON REQUEST

The WATTECO TORAN’O ATEX Zone 1 is a LoRaWAN® sensor designed to connect existing metering and monitoring equipment installed in potentially explosive environments.

It can collect pulse counts, status changes and analogue measurements from devices such as gas, water, electricity and thermal energy meters, mechanical pressure switches and pressure transducers.

The collected data is transmitted through a public or private LoRaWAN® network. This allows existing equipment to be integrated into remote monitoring systems without replacing the original meter or field instrument.

Advantages

  • ATEX Zone 1 certification: designed for use in explosive gas atmospheres within the specified certification conditions.
  • Multiple input types: supports pulse counting, status reporting and analogue measurement.
  • Existing equipment connectivity: converts compatible meters, pressure switches and transducers into LoRaWAN® communicating devices.
  • Differential data compression: reduces the volume of transmitted data while supporting load curve monitoring.
  • Flexible data transmission: measurements can be transmitted immediately or grouped into configurable batches.
  • Long operating autonomy: more than 10 years under the specified measurement, transmission and radio configuration.
  • Two enclosure versions: available with either an IP55 or IP68 protection rating.
  • Straightforward commissioning: magnetic switch and visible LEDs support activation, configuration and network pairing.

Typical applications

  • Remote pulse reading from gas, water, electricity and thermal energy meters.
  • Load curve monitoring in ATEX Zone 1 environments.
  • Monitoring of mechanical pressure switch status.
  • Transmission of pressure measurements from compatible pressure probes.
  • Detection of leaks, meter fraud or equipment removal.
  • Integration of existing field equipment into public or private LoRaWAN® networks.

Why choose the TORAN’O ATEX Zone 1 LoRaWAN® sensor

The TORAN’O ATEX Zone 1 provides a practical way to connect existing meters and industrial monitoring devices in hazardous locations. Its combination of pulse, status and analogue inputs supports several types of field equipment within a single LoRaWAN® device.

Configurable measurement intervals, grouped transmissions and differential data compression help reduce radio traffic and preserve battery autonomy. The choice between IP55 and IP68 versions also allows the enclosure protection level to be matched to the installation environment.
