The SEIBOLD Continuous Dissolved Copper (Cu) Analyzer is designed to monitor copper levels in water. It measures copper concentrations ranging from 0.01 to 1.00 mg/L with high accuracy and features automatic calibration and cleaning. This analyzer is ideal for applications in natural water sources, industrial processes, and drinking water systems, ensuring safe and compliant copper levels.


Copper (Cu) is both an essential nutrient and a contaminant for drinking water. It is used in various sectors:

  • Natural Sources: Most of the world’s copper is found as copper sulfides and in combination with other metals.
  • Industries: Copper is used in electroplating and the semiconductor industry.
  • Natural Waters: Copper is found in surface waters with an average concentration of 0.002 mg/L.
  • Drinking Water: Copper concentrations can vary widely, often due to corrosion of internal plumbing systems. Generally accepted concentrations in drinking water are around 1.5 mg/L.

Copper is not very toxic to humans and animals but can be toxic to certain fish, most invertebrates, and microbes.
