Smart Current Transformer – LoRaWAN® energy monitoring: CT10x (CT101 / CT103 / CT105) | Milesight
The Milesight CT10x series is a LoRaWAN® smart current transformer designed to monitor energy consumption remotely and trigger threshold/overrange alarms. Its non-invasive clamp design enables quick indoor installation without de-energizing the facility, helping reduce downtime and installation costs.
The Milesight CT10x series is a LoRaWAN® smart current transformer designed to monitor energy consumption remotely and trigger threshold and overrange alarms. Its non-invasive clamp design enables fast indoor installation without power interruption, reducing downtime and installation costs.
Key benefits
- RMS current and accumulated current measurement with minute-level reporting
- High accuracy with sampling frequency up to 3.3 kHz
- Fast response with sampling rate down to 1 second for alarm detection
- Self-powered from induced current, with optional USB-C power supply
- Flexible and detachable installation suitable for compact electrical panels
- Optional cable temperature monitoring via external USB probe
- Compatible with standard LoRaWAN® gateways and supports FUOTA
Available current clamps (probes)
The CT10x platform is available with three current clamp options, allowing precise adaptation to the monitored load: CT101 (100 A), CT103 (250 A), and CT105 (500 A). CT101 and CT103 are available with a detachable clamp design, while CT105 is optimized for higher current conductors.
Comparison table – current clamp selection
| Model | Rated Primary Current | Rated Secondary Current | Minimum Reporting Current* | Accuracy / Resolution | Wire Opening | Mechanical Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CT101 | 100 Arms | 100 mArms | 6 Arms (1 min) / 4 Arms (10 min) | ±1% (> 5 A), ±3% (≤ 5 A) / 1 mA | Ø 16 mm | Compact clamp, detachable design |
| CT103 | 250 Arms | 125 mArms | 12 Arms (1 min) / 6 Arms (10 min) | ±1% (> 5 A), ±3% (≤ 5 A) / 1 mA | Ø 16 mm | Compact clamp, detachable design |
| CT105 | 500 Arms | 150 mArms | 30 Arms (1 min) / 10 Arms (10 min) | ±1% (> 5 A), ±3% (≤ 5 A) / 1 mA | Ø 36.5 mm | Large opening for high-current conductors |
*Note: Minimum reporting current depends on the reporting interval when the device is powered only by the measured conductor. For reliable measurement at low currents, USB-C external power is recommended.
Optional temperature probe
The CT10x supports an external USB temperature probe for cable temperature monitoring. The probe uses an NTC sensor with a measuring range from -20 °C to +100 °C and an accuracy of ±1%.
